Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how Mt. Aden LLC ("Mt. Aden," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the mobile apps we publish on the Apple App Store and Google Play (the "Apps") and this website, mtaden.com.
Our Apps differ from one another. The details of what a particular App handles are described in that App's in-app disclosures and in its App Store privacy label or Google Play Data safety section. If we publish an app-specific privacy policy for an App on mtaden.com, that policy takes precedence over this one for that App.
2. Information an App May Handle
Depending on the App, information is collected when you provide it, when you use App features, through device permissions you grant, or automatically through App diagnostics and third-party software development kits (SDKs) identified in the App's disclosures.
Depending on the App and the features you use, an App may handle the following kinds of information:
- Content you create. Content you create in an App may be stored on your device and/or in your own iCloud or Google account. Where an App stores content only on your device or in your own iCloud or Google account in a way we cannot access, we cannot see that content. Apps that sync or process content on our servers or a provider's servers describe this in their in-app disclosures.
- Account information. Where an App offers optional sign-in (for example, Sign in with Apple, Google, or email), we may receive your name, email address, and an account identifier.
- Purchases and subscriptions. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We never receive your full payment card details. We may receive transaction and entitlement information, possibly through a subscription-management provider, so that we can unlock the features you purchased. Apps that use RevenueCat to confirm and restore purchases send it the store receipt or purchase token and related transaction details (such as product, price, currency, and date) together with an anonymous app user ID that RevenueCat generates, not your name or email. RevenueCat may also receive technical information such as your device type, operating system, locale, and currency, and the time you last used the App. Like any online service, RevenueCat's servers receive the IP address your device uses to connect to them, and where an App turns on RevenueCat's device identifier collection (for example, for install attribution), the RevenueCat SDK may also collect and send that IP address and device identifiers, such as the advertising ID, to RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes this information to help manage and restore your purchases, prevent fraud, and provide purchase and subscription analytics to us, and keeps a purchase history so that purchases can be restored. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
- Analytics and diagnostics. Where an App offers optional analytics and crash or diagnostic reporting, it may collect usage events, device and operating system information, and crash logs.
- Advertising. In ad-supported Apps, advertising networks such as Google AdMob may collect and use device identifiers to show and measure ads and to prevent fraud. These may include the device advertising identifier (the IDFA on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking, and the Android advertising ID, or AAID, on Android), app-scoped identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, ad and app interactions such as ads shown or tapped, and, depending on the SDK version and features used, diagnostic information such as non-user-related crash logs and performance data (for example, app launch time, hang rate, or energy usage), which Google may use to diagnose and improve its SDK and for advertising and analytics. On iOS, an App asks for your permission through App Tracking Transparency (ATT) before tracking you as Apple defines tracking, and respects your choice; if you decline, the App does not access the IDFA. Where required by law, such as in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, we ask for your consent through an in-app consent message, such as Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP), before using your information for personalized advertising. Other ad delivery and measurement may be subject to separate controls and applicable law. Google uses this information under the Google Privacy Policy and its advertising policies.
- Support communications. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include in your message.
- Device permissions. An App may request access to features such as the camera, photos, microphone, notifications, or location. An App requests only the permissions its features need, uses the associated data as described in its disclosures, and you can change permissions at any time in your device settings.
- AI features. Where an App offers AI features, content you submit may be sent to an AI service provider to generate a response, as disclosed in the App.
3. How We Use Information
Where an App handles information, we may use it to:
- provide, maintain, and sync the App and its features;
- process purchases and subscriptions and unlock purchased features;
- respond to support requests;
- diagnose and fix bugs and improve the App;
- protect the security and integrity of the App and our users;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- in ad-supported Apps only, show and measure advertising.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
Apps may rely on third-party providers, which may include cloud hosting and backend providers, authentication providers, analytics and crash-reporting providers, advertising networks, subscription-management providers, AI providers, and the Apple and Google platforms. We take reasonable steps, including contractual terms where available, to require service providers that receive personal information from an App to protect it in a manner consistent with this policy and applicable App Store and Google Play rules. Providers' own terms and privacy policies also apply to their processing. The specific categories used by an App are listed in that App's privacy label or Data safety section and in its in-app disclosures.
5. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information; Advertising Choices
We do not sell personal information for monetary consideration. Some ad-supported Apps may disclose information for personalized advertising in ways that California and other US state laws define as a "sale" or "sharing"; see below for how to opt out.
Such disclosures may include device identifiers or similar information provided to advertising networks for personalized (cross-context behavioral) advertising. Where required, you can opt out through the App's privacy or consent options or by emailing us at info.mtaden@gmail.com. You can also limit ad tracking by:
- declining or changing the App Tracking Transparency permission on iPhone and iPad in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking;
- changing your ad consent choice at any time in the App's Privacy options setting, where an App shows a consent message (the setting appears where a choice is required);
- resetting or deleting your device advertising ID in your device settings (on most Android devices, Settings > Privacy > Ads); and
- purchasing Remove Ads, where an App offers it. Depending on the App, Remove Ads may be permanent, time-limited (for example, a 3-month pass), or partial. For the ads it covers, it removes interstitial ads (and banner ads, where an App shows them) in that App while it is active, but optional rewarded ads that you choose to watch may still be offered, and when you watch one, the ad provider (such as Google AdMob) still collects the information described in Section 2. When a time-limited pass ends, ads return unless you buy it again.
Where required by law, we honor recognized opt-out preference signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where an App or this website can receive them.
The ATT permission is Apple's requirement and does not replace other privacy choices.
6. Children's Privacy
Our Apps are intended for a general audience. Unless an App states otherwise, our Apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that an App has collected personal information from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will delete it. If you believe this has happened, contact us at info.mtaden@gmail.com.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, for example while you use the App or have an account, and longer only where required by law or to resolve disputes. An App's disclosures may describe specific retention periods. Deleting an App generally removes the data it stored on your device; data synced to your own iCloud or Google account, or copied into your device backup (iCloud Backup or Google backup), may remain until you delete it there (for iCloud: Settings > [your name] > iCloud). We cannot access your device or your backups.
If an App lets you create an account, you can start account deletion within the App, and for Android Apps through a web page linked from the App's Google Play listing. If you need help, you can also email us at info.mtaden@gmail.com. When you delete an account, we delete the account and associated personal information, except information we must keep by law, which the App or deletion flow will explain.
If an App has no account, you can still ask us by email at info.mtaden@gmail.com to delete identifiers and records linked to your use of the App, such as the anonymous app user ID and purchase records held by our subscription-management provider (for example RevenueCat), and any emails you sent us. Tell us the App, your platform, and, for a purchase, the store order number so we can find the matching record. After deletion, you can still restore a store purchase in the App, which creates a new anonymous record. Advertising data collected by Google is held by Google under its own policies; you can manage it through Google's privacy controls and the advertising choices in Section 5.
We respond to privacy requests within the time required by applicable law (for example, for California residents we confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days, which may be extended as the law allows; for GDPR requests, within one month).
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA/CPRA), and other US state privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- request deletion;
- receive a portable copy of your information;
- object to or request restriction of certain processing;
- object to direct marketing;
- withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising; and
- not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
To make a request, email us at info.mtaden@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
Depending on the App and the processing, where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal information on one or more of these legal bases:
- contract: to provide the App and features you request;
- consent: for example, for personalized advertising or optional analytics where consent is required;
- legitimate interests: for example, security, fixing bugs, and improving the App, where not overridden by your rights; and
- legal obligation: where we must comply with applicable law.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International Transfers
Mt. Aden LLC is based in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Where appropriate for material changes, we will notify you in the App or on this website. See also our Terms of Service.

App-specific details: SlateNotesAI
Effective date: November 1, 2026
This part describes what the SlateNotesAI app ("SlateNotesAI") handles on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It adds to the policy above, and where it is more specific, it takes precedence for SlateNotesAI, as described in Section 1.
- SlateNotesAI has no accounts and no sign-in, and it does not set a user ID.
- Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, and notes are stored on your device. This version has no cloud sync, and we do not receive your recordings or notes.
- Transcription and summaries run on your device. No AI service provider receives your audio, transcripts, or summaries.
- On iPhone and iPad, the free version may show ads from Google AdMob: at most one banner on the Recent Notes screen, when ads are turned on. The app asks for consent first where the law requires it and uses the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking. Pro has no ads.
- Purchases go through Apple. SlateNotesAI does not use RevenueCat or any other third-party billing service.
- On iPhone and iPad, the app uses Firebase Analytics and Amplitude for analytics, and Firebase Remote Config for remote settings. Note content is not sent to them.
Information stored on your device
- Recordings: the audio you record with the microphone, and audio files you import (m4a, mp3, wav, aiff, or caf).
- Notes: transcripts, summaries, chapters, action items, and the titles and edits you make.
- Speaker profiles (Pro): the voice profiles the app uses to label who is speaking in a recording.
- Custom dictionary: the words and corrections you add to improve transcription.
- Settings and usage: your choices in Settings, how much of the free transcription allowance you have used, and whether you have Pro, so that Pro works offline.
- AI models: speech-recognition models you download.
We cannot see this information. This version of SlateNotesAI does not sync to iCloud or any other service. If a future version offers sync, we will update this section and the app's App Store privacy information before that version is released.
Transcription
SlateNotesAI turns your audio into text on your device. Depending on your device and plan, it uses Apple's speech recognition, set to on-device recognition only, or a speech-recognition model downloaded to your device (high-accuracy Whisper is a Pro feature). Your audio and transcripts are not sent to us or to any speech or AI service provider.
Model downloads. Speech-recognition models are downloaded directly from Hugging Face. Like any download, Hugging Face's servers receive your IP address and the files requested. No recording or note content is sent.
AI summaries
Summaries are generated on your device with Apple's on-device Foundation Models. SlateNotesAI does not use Apple's Private Cloud Compute or any network AI service for summaries, and no third-party AI provider receives your audio, transcripts, or summaries. Chapters are built on your device from the transcript.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
On iPhone and iPad, the free version of SlateNotesAI shows at most one banner on the Recent Notes screen, when ads are turned on. Ads are never shown while you are recording, playing audio, or while a recording is being processed, and never to Pro users. The Mac version shows no ads. When ads are shown, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects the advertising information described in Section 2: the advertising identifier (the IDFA, only if you allow tracking), app-specific identifiers, approximate location derived from your IP address, the ads you see and tap, and SDK diagnostic information. See How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Consent. After you finish the introduction, and only if you do not have Pro, the app checks with Google's User Messaging Platform whether a consent message is required where you live, for example in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland. If one is required, the app shows Google's consent message and does not start the ad SDK or request ads until you have made a choice. If you do not consent, Google may still show non-personalized or limited ads. Where a choice applies to you, you can change it at any time in Settings > Privacy Options in the app.
App Tracking Transparency. After any required consent message, the app shows Apple's tracking prompt if you have not answered it before. Pro users see neither message. The ad SDK does not start until you have answered. If you ask the app not to track, the app and the SDKs in it cannot access the IDFA, and the app works the same.
Purchases (Apple)
SlateNotesAI Pro is offered as monthly, quarterly, and yearly subscriptions and a lifetime purchase. Apple handles the payment through the App Store, and the app confirms your purchase directly with Apple. It does not use RevenueCat or any other third-party billing service, and we never receive your payment details. When you view the upgrade screen, buy, or restore, the app's analytics record that event with the product ID only, never the price. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
Analytics, remote settings, and update checks
On iPhone and iPad, SlateNotesAI uses Firebase Analytics and Amplitude to understand how the app is used, and Firebase Remote Config to receive settings such as feature switches, ad switches, and free-tier limits.
App events. The app sends its own usage events to both Firebase Analytics and Amplitude, such as a recording started or stopped (with its length and word count), a note created, favorited or deleted, a transcription or summary completed, a search (only the length of the search and the number of results), an ad shown, and the upgrade screen, purchase, and restore events. These events identify a note only by an ID, never by its content.
Firebase Analytics also collects events automatically, such as first open, sessions, and app updates. Each event carries a Firebase app instance ID, the device model, operating system, app version, and language. If you allow tracking, Firebase Analytics also receives the IDFA. Google derives an approximate location (city, region, and country) from your IP address. Firebase Remote Config uses a Firebase installation ID to deliver settings.
Amplitude also collects sessions, app opens and closes, screen views, taps (including repeated taps and taps that get no response), and network request timing, status codes, and sizes. Amplitude's device ID is Apple's identifier for vendor (IDFV), or a random ID if the IDFV is unavailable. Each Amplitude event carries that ID, the device manufacturer and model, operating system and version, platform, app version, device language, and mobile carrier name where iOS provides it. Amplitude receives your IP address and derives an approximate location (city, region, and country) from it. Amplitude does not receive the IDFA.
Before events are sent, the app removes note titles, dictionary words, and other text from screen names and tap details, reduces web addresses to the site and path, and does not send request headers or contents. Model downloads from Hugging Face are not recorded. The Mac version currently includes no analytics or remote settings.
Update check. The app asks Apple's App Store lookup service whether a newer version is available, so Apple receives that request and your IP address.
Permissions and children
SlateNotesAI asks for microphone access to record and for permission to send notifications. On iPhone and iPad, if you do not have Pro, it also shows Apple's tracking prompt after the introduction. You can change these in your device settings at any time.
SlateNotesAI is not directed to children under 13, and our Terms of Service require users to be at least 13. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and that information about them is held by us, email us at info.mtaden@gmail.com and we will delete it.
Legal bases (EEA, UK, and Switzerland)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process information for SlateNotesAI on the legal bases described in Section 9, including:
- contract: to provide the App and features you request, such as Pro;
- legitimate interests: to understand how the App is used, fix bugs, and improve it with the analytics described above, and to deliver remote settings; and
- consent: for personalized advertising, which you choose in Google's consent message.
Retention and deletion
Recordings, transcripts, and notes stay on your device until you delete them or delete the app. Deleting all notes removes your notes but keeps your speaker profiles. You can delete a single speaker profile in Settings > Voice Profiles & People. Deleting the app deletes everything it stored on the device, including speaker profiles and downloaded models. A copy may remain in your device backup until you delete it there.
Google (for AdMob and Firebase), Amplitude, and Apple keep the information they receive under their own retention policies. To ask us to delete analytics data, email info.mtaden@gmail.com and tell us that it is about SlateNotesAI. Because there is no account, we may need your help to identify which records are yours.
